Ana Marcu
Founder, Voice/Piano/Acting Tutor
Ana is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, actor, teacher, music director, and songwriter originally from Southern Oregon, now based in New York City. She graduated from Syracuse University Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Musical Theater. She started Ivory in 2016 and has been working with piano and vocal students for over 15 years. She has worked as a music director and vocal coach at the Manhattan School of Music, Syracuse University, Broadway Weekends, Applause Theatrical Workshop, and for various cabarets around NYC. Her experience as a performer in off-Broadway shows, international tours, and regional musicals, combined with her experience in music direction and piano accompaniment, lends to her ability to train people of all levels and interests. She strives to tailor her classes to each student individually based on their goals and dreams. She hopes to inspire joy in making music as well as giving you the tools to improve on what you are looking to achieve. She has a deep love for music and is passionate about sharing that love to help others find their own joy in music. Many of her students take combined piano and voice classes and even work on their own music and songwriting. Ana’s favorite styles of music are folk, musical theater, and pop and classical and she loves to teach acting through song and expressing emotion and meaning through the music.
